Televend’s Dynamic Routing Optimizes Service Routes for the UK Vendor, Livewell
Optimizing Service Staff Workload with Dynamic Routing

“We are impressed with the Televend technology and the reliability their solutions provide.”
About Livewell:
Livewell is a UK company that launched in 2006 and is a member of the AVA. At launch, their main focus was to provide healthier vending options in the school sector, and they have since expanded to offer a full range of vending, coffee, water coolers, and micro-markets to all sectors.
At 16 years old, Livewell is a well-established business yet still young, dynamic, and innovative. They deliver exciting, automated solutions with touchscreens, telemetry, and contactless payments to fit modern society’s needs.
Challenge
Shortage of experienced service operators
The latest challenge that Livewell has been facing is the lack of a workforce. Due to negative workforce fluctuations, there was a shortage of field staff in the company, effectively operators, and technicians that service the machines.

“As well as eliminating unnecessary visits, we have also benefited by reducing Operator time on site, as pre-kitting means there is no need to go to the machine to check stock levels.”

Solution
Televend dynamic routing
Livewell implemented Televed five years ago and immediately started using dynamic routing based on predictive AI technology. Since then, they have been planning routes according to the system’s projections and triggers they had set up.
Triggers show them which machines are most critical to visit, for example, those with the biggest estimated sales loss or the highest number of empty columns in the following days. Listening to the system triggers, Livewell has been able to cut the number of locations their operators need to visit.

“One unexpected improvement has been that the visibility of machine stock requirements has enabled us to carry less stock on vans allowing us to operate smaller vans, reducing fuel costs.”
Result
30% better workload optimization
Since using Televend, Livewell has seen big improvements in its workload optimization. Dynamic routing enabled them to eliminate unnecessary trips by 30% and have fewer trips per operator. In return, they could allocate the surplus of working hours so that a single operator can manage 30% more routes. Because they can do more work with the same or even fewer employees, Livewell can successfully fight the negative workforce fluctuations in the market.
What has impressed Livewell the most?
- Reduction in routing costs by 30%
- Optimization of the field staff workload
- Fuel costs reduction
